Artist Statement

My work is a collection of field studies, questions, and my process of answering them, resulting in a final visual piece. It is my attempt to convey how I see — the abstractions that transcend a person’s physical form and what is visible only to me until I can bring it into reality for others to see. I explore the quiet darkness and fractured light in moments behind the eyes, the connection I have to people, places that become home, and how a feeling links itself to a window in time, often corresponding to colors and movement, whether it is captured in a still image or a kinetic medium.
